Nuala is an environmentalist, policy analyst and writer on ecology and psychology. Nuala is a former Green member of the European Parliament and represented Leinster on the East Coast of Ireland for 10 years from 1994-2004. Nuala was vice president of the Parliament’s Committee on Industry, External Trade, Research and Energy.

She was also president of the European Parliament Group on Complementary and Natural Medicine, and served on the European Parliament Delegation to the US Congress.

She was a member of Wicklow County Council from 1991-1994. She is a founder member of the Irish Women’s Environmental Network. A counselling psychologist by profession before becoming a public representative, Nuala continues to be interested in both ecology and psychology

As a former European legislator Nuala has key experience in policy analysis both with regard to European legislation and to environmental issues. Nuala currently works as a policy analyst and writer on green and environmental issues. She also works with organisations and individuals to educate and develop their connection with the natural world, and with organisations facing environmental challenges that seek ways to dialogue and resolve conflict.
