Since his college days Joseph has been convinced that a well-designed building should not only be aesthetic and practical but highly energy-efficient, a healthy place to be and one that will remain cost-efficient despite constantly increasing fuel prices. He recently completed a (part-time) MSc with University of East London: ‘MSc Architecture Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies’. This has enabled him to hone his knowledge and ideas.
He has lectured and written several articles on energy efficient construction and problems with current practices. Joseph Little led a team of four for 2 years on a 50M town centre development, was project architect for a 9M technical college and 5M passive solar national school and a wide range of building types.
Founded in 2003, Joseph Little Architects is a Dublin-based practice with a low energy and healthy building focus. JLA is a young enthusiastic team of 3 architects and 3 technicians. They currently have an office fit-out and several low-energy houses on site, both new builds and refurbishment/extensions, with several interesting low energy projects in development.
